Patient instructions for endodontic procedures, including root canal treatment.

WHAT ARE SOME GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS I SHOULD FOLLOW FOR ROOT CANAL TREATMENT?

In order to achieve the best possible outcome from endodontic procedures, including root canal treatment, it’s important to follow the instructions given to you by your endodontic team. At Upper East Side Endodontists in NYC, we recommend:

  • Before endodontic treatment: Depending on the type of sedation that will be administered during your treatment, there may be certain medications you’ll be instructed to avoid prior to the procedure. Your doctor may also recommend ibuprofen pre-operatively in order to reduce inflammation.
  • After endodontic treatment: Typically, there are no restrictions on your regular prescription medication after treatment, but your doctor will let you know if otherwise. You will also be given instructions on post treatment dental hygiene, including brushing, flossing and also foods to avoid, if any. Antibiotic medication is also commonly prescribed.

Our skilled and friendly team at Upper East Side Endodontists in NYC is also happy to help you with any questions you may have regarding our financial policy, insurance information and more. We want to make the affordability of our services as convenient and stress-free as the treatment itself!
